NAAC 'A' Grade, NBA Accredited for 7 UG programs under Tier 1 CVR College of Engineering is accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade from 2016 to 2021 (in the process of renewal). The college is also accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) in Tier-1 for seven of its UG programs - EIE for a period of 3 years from 2024-2027, CSE, Civil, Mechanical, IT for a period of 3 years (2025-2028) and ECE, EEE for a period of 6 years (2022-2028). Record Placements The college has been creating records year after year. In spite of a huge recession year with about 75 companies visiting CVR and above 900 placements for the 2023-24 academic year, it is the highest among the peer group of colleges. National Level Programming Contest “Smart India Hackathon’17”at CVR College of Engineering, Hyderabad on 1st and 2nd April, 2017

The National level Programming Contest “Smart India Hackathon’17” (http://innovate.mygov.in/sih2017/) conducted jointly by MHRD, UGC, and AICTE is being hosted by CVR College of Engineering, which is a premier institute for technological education, located at Hyderabad, Telangana.

The Central Government has taken up schemes like ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ a technological movement, in which the students are the participants.  This event is being conducted across 26 nodal centres spread across India. Based on the criteria required for this programme, various institutions in India put forth their request for hosting this mega event which will lead to technological advancements and innovations and empower the specially abled citizens too.    CVR College of Engineering has the privilege to be one among the 26  nodal centres selected in India and the only one in Telangana region.

The conference is a platform for students to explore their technical skills and develop software for meeting the requirements of specially abled people. CVR College of Engineering is hosting this mega event where students from various institutions across India will participate to showcase their skills and develop technological methods for the welfare of specially abled people, the blind and the deaf. The Central Government has provided grants for this purpose and the scholarships will be provided through transparent procedures for deserving candidates.

The programme will commence from 7a.m. on 1st April, 2017 and our Honorable Minister for Human Resources Development, Shri. Prakash Javedekar will inaugurate the event, ‘Smart India Hackathon’17’, through video conference across all the nodal centres in India. The programme will conclude at 8 p.m. on 2nd April, 2017. The winners of all the technical events will be awarded cash prizes allocated by the Central Government. This event provides students great opportunities to participate and develop their skills in the technological arena for the development of the nation. The Management of CVR College of Engineering deems it a privilege to host this technological grandeur for a noble cause in their institution.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)

Entrepreneurship Development Cell was established in the college with the vision “Turn around the “Job seekers” into “Job Creators” in the year 2011.  Currently the AICTE Sponsored IIPC and ED Cells are working. EDC has 1450 Sft space and its own audio-visual equipment. It has a library with 300 printed titles and 400 volumes and also has repository of digital content of successful Entrepreneurial stories. Entrepreneurship Lab in the college is supplementing the existing UG Courses namely ‘Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Intellectual Property Rights’.

Mission

  • Create conducive atmosphere to motivate young students towards Entrepreneurship.
  • Develop necessary infrastructure and facilities to initiate venture start-ups
  • Integrate entrepreneurial resources like financial, infrastructural and government policy matters.
  • Creation of first generation entrepreneurs in a conducive environment where budding entrepreneurs can venture into start-ups and realize the path for a successful Entrepreneurship through the resources of EDC Cell.

Objectives of EDC 

Entrepreneurship is a mindset that can be developed by any student who aspires to become an employer. The increasing demand and recognition for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for ensuring the welfare of the society and economic growth of an individual have motivated this great leap forward to promote the Entrepreneurship Development Cell. With proper motivation, Entrepreneurship can be inculcated into the minds of young professionals. Thus this Cell aims to foster Techno-entrepreneurship more systematically and comprehensively with a focus on incubating all feasible ventures through technology intervention.

The following are the major objectives,

  1. Fostering the entrepreneurial spirit.
  2. Incubation of technical projects/start-ups.
  3. Creating awareness about Transfer of Technology.
  4. Encouraging entrepreneurs to promote Small & Medium Enterprises.
  5. Commercialization of R&D products and processes.
  6. Helping towards marketing of Products & Processes.

Coordinator of EDC

Dr. T.A. Janardhan Reddy is the founder Professor of EDC at CVRCE. He was formerly Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Osmania University and currently senior Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department, CVRCE. He had been a successful Entrepreneur for 3 years and is also a social worker. He established Mechanical Engineering Department, its laboratories and positioned teaching and non-teaching staff. He is an alumnus of Osmania University Hyderabad, NIT Warangal and IIT Madras. He conducted several entrepreneurship programs like SIMAP’s-(11) (14 weeks duration each), STUP (1), ED workshops (6), EAC’s (32) FDP-(2) and TEDP (1)

Activities of EDC

The EDC has been conducting EAC’s and guest lectures on Entrepreneurship related subjects for the past 6 years. Several Workshops were conducted on themes like ‘Venture Start-Ups’, ‘Life Science businesses’, Launching of Technology Ventures’ and ‘Venture capital funding’, with the collaboration of Institutions like SIDBI, NABARD, MSME, SME Bank Lead Managers, IKP Knowledge Park.

Entrepreneurship club 

In order to create Entrepreneurial ambience in the college premises, a constant and continuous perseverance is required. Formation of a Club with student and Staff members is under process. Sharing ideas, helping each other to make prototypes, collecting information jointly, conducting camps and help in promoting enterprises will be the major activities of the club.

We are very happy to share that Mr. Sankalp Reddy, the Director of the movies "Antariksham 9000 kmph" (2018) and "The Ghazi" (2017), is our alumnus of the 2006 passed out batch and that Mr. Kunal Kaushik, also an alumnus of the same batch, was a supporting actor in the movie "The Ghazi". We are equally happy to share that Mr. Prashanth Varma, the Director of the movie "AWE" is our alumnus of the 2010 passed out batch.


We congratulate all of them for having made a mark in the film industry and wish all of them the very best for many things in the future.

 

 

Dr. M.V. Seshagiri Rao, Ph.D.

Dr. M.V. Sheshagiri Rao is a double postgraduate in Structural Engineering and Software Engineering, with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering.  He is having 37 years of research, teaching, consultancy and construction experience. In the first seven years of his career in A.P. Engineering Research Laboratories, he was involved in the model analysis of prestigious projects like Godavari Barrage, Priya Darshini Jurala project, third railway bridge near Vijayawada and gauging of left and right canals of river Krishna.

At JNTU, he worked in various capacities like Project Engineer, Project Officer for the UGC Academic College building, Head of Civil Engineering Department, Vice Principal, Director, BICS and Chief Engineer, BOS Chair person, Member, Board of Governors, JNTUHCEH. He was also the Coordinator for Academic and Research for JNTUHCEH and NBA Nodal Centre, JNTU Hyderabad.  He has published over 190 research papers and won eight awards for his publications and works. He was named Outstanding Concrete Technologist 2006 by the Indian Concrete Institute for his contribution to the field concrete technology, given the BEST TEACHER AWARD by Govt. of AP in 2009 apart from other awards for his papers.

He has guided 20 Ph.D. scholars, more than 150 M.Tech. projects and completed R&D projects sanctioned by DST & AICTE and others.

He was a member of National Programme for Capacity Building Of Civil Engineers In Earthquake Risk Management (NPCBEERM) by MHRD for training field engineers in Earthquake Risk Management. He was also an expert member for UGC, AICTE, UPSC and for APPSC. He has published two books on Engineering Mechanics and Concrete Technology.
