Dr. P. Uma Maheshwera Reddy, Ph.D.
Dr. P. Uma Maheshwera Reddy completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani in 2015. He received his M.Tech. from VTU, Karnataka, in 2004, securing the University First Rank and Gold Medal, and his B.Tech. from SKU, Andhra Pradesh, in 2000. With over 20 years of teaching and research experience, he joined CVR College of Engineering in 2015 as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He served as Professor-in-Charge of the Library for over two years and has been the Associate Dean Research since 2023, focusing on promoting high-quality academic research.
He has expertise in teaching courses such as Design of Machine Elements, Machine Design, Mechanics of Solids, Finite Element Methods, Mechanical Vibrations, and Engineering Mechanics. In addition to teaching, he serves as a member of the Board of Studies for Mechanical Engineering and coordinates B.Tech. project works. He has contributed as a resource person for Faculty Development Programs and International Conferences, served on technical committees for several conferences, and chaired technical sessions. Also, he has played a key role in organizing three editions of the International Conference on Mechanical, Material, and Manufacturing Technology (ICE3MT) in 2020, 2022, and 2024, serving as the convener.
His research interests include advanced manufacturing, machining, tribology, materials, finite element methods, machine learning, and artificial neural networks. He has presented his research at International Conferences in the USA, Vietnam, Singapore, and the UAE, and published over 50 SCIE and Scopus-indexed articles with publishers like Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, SAGE, ASME, Wiley, IEEE, and AIP. He also holds three Intellectual Property Rights. He served as Managing Guest Editor for International Conference Proceedings published by Elsevier and AIP Publishing and is currently the Associate Editor for the CVR Journal of Science and Technology, an open-access journal. As an active reviewer, he contributes to leading journals from publishers including IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, SAGE, ACS, and ASME. His contributions to research and academia have led to international travel grants from DST, UGC, CSIR, and INSA, along with an Undergraduate Research Project Grant of ₹30,000 from the Institution of Engineers (India).
As Associate Dean Research, he is committed to promoting high-quality research, supporting the institutions research goals, and managing all research related activities in the Dean Research Office.
