NAAC 'A' Grade, NBA Accredited for 7 UG programs under Tier 1 CVR College of Engineering is accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade from 2016 to 2021 (in the process of renewal). The college is also accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) in Tier-1 for seven of its UG programs - EIE for a period of 3 years from 2024-2027, CSE, Civil, Mechanical, IT for a period of 3 years (2025-2028) and ECE, EEE for a period of 6 years (2022-2028). Record Placements The college has been creating records year after year. In spite of a huge recession year with about 75 companies visiting CVR and above 900 placements for the 2023-24 academic year, it is the highest among the peer group of colleges. The average salary increased to a new high. The highest offer is a remarkable Rs. 33,00,000 and more than 100 students got offers with high salaries, a new record. Library The College has a dedicated three-storied building with a total area of 1450 sqm, for the exclusive use of Library and Postgraduate Research facilities. The College library has 87,582 books, 17,046  reference titles and 191 journals (including IEEE Journals along with full access to Digital Libraries of IEEE, ASME, ASCE etc.) that cater to all the eight branches of engineering, as well as other disciplines.   1. Upload photos to Picasa.
  2. Create a copy of an existing picasaslideshow module (e.g. Annual Day 2011).
  3. Change the name of the copy and enable it. Enter a distinctive value in Position field (e.g. annualday11). Enter the RSS URL of the Picasa photo album in the URL field on the right. Save and close.
  4. Create an article for the album. Enter title of album in the first line (Header 4 style). In the next line, enter . Replace annualday11 with whatever distinctive value you had entered for position in the previous step. Disable Title display for the article (in Advanced Parameters).
  5. Create a menu entry in Media menu. Point it to article created above.
  6. Go back to Module Manager and open the picasaslideshow module created earlier. Set visibility to the menu item created in previous step. Save & Close.
  7. Open website and check if everything is working properly.

Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology was started in the year 2001 with an initial intake of 60 B.Tech. students. Subsequently in the year 2007-08, intake was increased to 120. The department  was accredited by NBA, AICTE in the year 2007. The department had been headed by Prof. R.Seetharamaiah since its inception in 2001. It is now headed by Prof. U.V. Ramana Sarma (since 2012)  The department has four Professors, four Associate Professors and 17 Assistant Professors on its rolls. Two Associate Professors and one Assistant Professor are pursuing Ph.D. at University of Hyderabad. 

The department caters to students of IT department and also offers subjects of specialization to other departments. The subjects offered by this department include DBMS, C & Data structures for first year students and IT Workshop laboratory, which is handled by the department for all branches of Engineering. 

The department has three laboratories with 75 systems each, catering to the departmental curriculum. The systems use standard licensed software as a college policy.

The areas of expertise of the senior faculty include Parallel programming, Computer Organization, Microprocessors and Interfacing, Advanced Computer Architecture, Real Time Systems and Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, Distributed Systems, Multimedia, Scripting Languages, and Middleware Technologies.  Almost all faculty have an M.Tech. in Computer Science, with a minimum of about 4 years of teaching experience at  the Assistant Professor level, which is an entry level requirement for recuitment to the department. The faculty consists of a good mix of individuals with industry and academic experience. The department also has a high faculty retention rate.

Students of the department participate in various projects competitions like IBM Great Mind Challenge every year. Various certification programs are conducted regularly to better prepare students for industry (e.g., Adobe Flex, IBM DB2, EMC SAN, Infosys Campus Connect). The department has also set up an Innovation Club to encourage creative thinking among its students.

One of the major achievements by the students of this department was to win a prize of Rs.50,000 from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in 2006 in iTalent, which is a B.Tech. final year projects competition in which about 400 colleges of southern region participate every year.

The Professors of the department are:

1.    Dr. R. Seetharamaiah. Has 20 years of industry experience, including with ECIL. He has completed his Ph.D. in Distributed Computing from University of Hyderabad.

2.    Prof. U.V. Ramana Sarma - formerly with ECIL.

3.    Dr. Bipin Behari Jayasingh, Ph.D. in Cyber Forensics. He is the Head of the department.
