NAAC 'A' Grade, NBA Accredited for 7 UG programs under Tier 1 CVR College of Engineering is accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade from 2016 to 2021 (in the process of renewal). The college is also accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) in Tier-1 for seven of its UG programs - EIE for a period of 3 years from 2021-2024, CSE, Civil, Mechanical, IT for a period of 3 years (2022-2025) and ECE, EEE for a period of 6 years (2022-2028). In spite of a huge recession year with about 75 companies visiting CVR and above 900 placements for the 2023-24 academic year, it is the highest among the peer group of colleges. Six Days workshop on “BioDesign and Innovation” on 6 November 2021. The Guest speaker was Dr. Vimal Kishore, doctor and innovator, Director of Clinical Innovations, COEO Labs Pvt. Ltd.

 

 

 

One Day Workshop on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” was organized on 9 Oct 2021 in which 30 students participated. The guest speaker was The guest speaker is Mr.Bhanu Prakash Reddy Varla, alumnus of IIT Bangalore, IIM Bangalore. He is Cofounder, Partner & Director of the following four companies: Gray Logic Tech, Urban Kisaan, Edify Path and Beenfield Consulting VC.

 

A One Day virtual workshop on “Need Identification and Ideation” was organized by EDC of CVR College of Engineering on 27-12-2020. The resource person was Dr. Vimal Kakani, Director- Clinical Innovations, COEO Labs Pvt. Ltd.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell

 

Entrepreneurship Development Cell was established in the college with the vision “Turn aound the “Job seekers” into “Job Creators” in the year 2011. 

Vision: Turn around the “Job seekers” into “Job Creators”.

Mission:

 Create conducive atmosphere to motivate young students towards Entrepreneurship.

 Develop necessary infrastructure and facilities to initiate venture start-ups

 Creation of first-generation entrepreneurs in a conducive environment where budding entrepreneurs can venture into start-ups and realize the path for a successful Entrepreneurship through the resources of EDC Cell.

Objectives of EDC: 

1. Fostering the entrepreneurial spirit.

2. Incubation of technical projects/start-ups.

3. Creating awareness about Transfer of Technology.

4. Encouraging entrepreneurs to promote Small & Medium Enterprises.

5. Commercialization of R&D products and processes.

6. Helping towards marketing of Products & Processes.

 

Management of EDC:

The Cell is being headed by Prof. P. Vishwanath, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering as Chief Coordinator and Dr. Vanishree Sah as coordinator. There is a separate account opened for the activities of EDC to be operated by the Principal of the college.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

EDC Activities

One Day workshop on Innovation Ideation and Startups

One Day workshop on Innovation Ideation and Startups was organized on 2 July 2022 for 30 students from various branches of our college. Guest speaker Dr. Shivakiran M.S., Head, Atal Incubation Center, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur. The guest speaker spoke on how the students can make a wonderful career through entrepreneurship and become job providers. He also spoke on how the government is trying to support the budding entrepreneurs through technical support, financial support and mentor support. By the end of the workshop the students were quite boosted up on taking up the journey of entrepreneurship.

One Day workshop on “Employability Skills for Engineering Graduates"

One Day workshop on “Employability Skills for Engineering Graduates" was conducted on 10 June 2022 for 120 students from CIVIL and Mechanical Departments of our college by NICMAR , Hyderabad. The guest speakers were Dr. Mahesh Balasubramani and Prof. Prashanth Kumar Sreram from NICMAR. The students got an insight on recent developments and advancements in the construction industry and the opportunities for CIVIL and Mechanical students in the Project Management and Construction sector. The students were also sensitized on the latest skill sets that are required by the current market scenario. The students gave positive feedback on the workshop and the workshop also helped them in channelizing their career.

Bootcamp  on Startup idea pitching

Six students from II nd year from our college have participated in Startup Idea pitching organized by Sreenidhi College of Engineering from 16 – 18 June 2022. Our college stood first in the competition.

One week Workshop on Bio Design and Innovation

One week Workshop on Bio Design and Innovation was conducted on 6 November 2021 for 30 students at our college. The guest speaker was Dr. Vimal Kishore, doctor and innovator, Director of Clinical Innovations, COEO Labs Pvt. Ltd. The guest speaker gave insights into the opportunities that are there for entrepreneurs in Biotech sector. He discussed some of the case studies on products that have been designed and developed indigenously and how they have proven to be very successful in India and abroad. The students gave positive feedback on the workshop as they got awareness on scope for entrepreneurship in Biotech sector.

One Week EDP on “Start-Up Entrepreneurship in IT sector”

One Week Entrepreneurship Development Programme on “Start-Up Entrepreneurship in IT sector” was organized on 15 -20 March 2021 in which 50 students of CSE and IT department participated. The workshop was conducted by NEDC, New Delhi. The speaker was Mr. Dayanand, Programme Executive , Defence Innovation Organization. Some of the topics covered were - Role of various Government Organizations and other promotional institution involved in development of Start-up in IT sector of India; Business Environment Scanning for IT Companies; Idea Validation Process- Idea Identification, Assessment, How to test a Business Start-up Idea Viability in current Scenario, Project Identification & opportunity guidance for IT Sector, Upcoming Start-up opportunities and Challenges- IT sector Post Covid.

Two Day workshop on “Make in India and Entrepreneurship”

Two Day workshop on “Make in India and Entrepreneurship” was organized on 2 and 3 January 2021 in collaboration with ECE Department in which 135 students of our college participated. The guest speaker was Dr. V. K. Arora, CEO, IGOTUW, Anveshan foundation, IGOTUW campus, Delhi. The topics covered were “Opportunities and Challenges faced by Entrepreneurs in Indian Market” and “Critical skills required by entrepreneurs to face these challenges”. The workshop was successful, and students got lot of valuable inputs from the speaker.

One Day webinar on IPR

A One Day webinar was organized by Koneru Lakshmaiah Intellectual Property Facilitation Center, sponsored by MSME on 9-01-2021 in which 13 faculty and 4 students from our college participated. The topics covered during the webinar were Utility Patents, Trademarks & Copyrights. Resource person was Mr. Praveen Daniel is the Assistant Controller of Patents & Designs, IPO, Chennai. He had worked with the Design Wing in Patent Office, IPO , Kolkata from 2009 to 2017. He is the lead initiator of IPC-EUI Project and attended the Quality Management Mission consultation at Alicante, Spain in 2016.

National Level Awareness Programme-2020 on MSME:

A One Day “National Level Awareness Programme-2020 on MSME” was organized by CVR College of Engineering in collaboration with Kadhi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) for 100  B.Tech III year students from EIE and IT Departments on 3 rd March 2020. Keynote address was delivered by Sri V.Chandulal, State Director, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, State Office, Telangana, Hyderabad. A Presentation was given by Sri G.Narayana Rao, Assistant Director, Khadi and Village Industries Commission on Schemes/activities of M/o MSME & also on Entrepreneur development.  Vote of Thanks was delivered by Sri K.Uday Kiran, Jr.Translation Officer, State Office, KVIC, Telangana. The workshop was insightful for the students.

 

Workshop on “Entrepreneurship in Upcoming Business Ideas”:

 

A One Day Workshop on “Entrepreneurship in Upcoming Business Ideas” was organized on 10 February, 2020, in which 75 students participated. The guest speaker for “Entrepreneurship in upcoming business ideas” is Mr. Sidharth Reddy Gauni, Co founder & CEO, Gaumanchi International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. Workshop on “Entrepreneurship in Agritech”:

A One Day Workshop on “Entrepreneurship in Agritech” was organized on 17 February 2020, in which 68 students participated. The guest speaker was Mr. Bhubesh Kumar, Director, RICH, T-Hub, IIIT-H. The students gave positive feedback on the guest lecture. The guest speaker covered the following points in his guest lecture:

  • Problems being faced in agriculture and how these problems can be solved technically.
  • Insights on latest developments in Agritech sector
  • Technical skills and specialist knowledge of sustainable agriculture,

 

Design thinking” course for students:

The course was conducted for 198 students of our college for 14 days during February-March 2020. The course was taken by 30 faculty belonging to various departments who had undergone FDP on Design thinking. The students got an in depth knowledge on the following topics:

  • The five practices that enable innovation
  • Steps involved in design thinking
  • Scaling Design Thinking
  • Critical success factors while implementing Design Thinking
  • Possible Applications of Design Thinking
  • The Innovation triangle
  • Design Thinking Mindsets
  • Methodologies for Design Thinking

 

The guest speaker was Mr. Abhimanyu Bharadwaj, Founder and CEO, M/S. Launchspace Innovations Pvt. Ltd. The workshop also included several team activities, analysis of case studies, and critical readings. The feedback on the workshop was very positive.

FDP on “Design Thinking”:

A four day Faculty Development Programme was organized by Entrepreneurship evelopment Cell on 4th, 8th, 11th, and 18th January, 2020. Thirty faculty members from all Departments participated in the FDP. The guest speaker was Mr. Abhimanyu Bharadwaj, Founder and CEO, M/S. Launchspace Innovations Pvt. Ltd. The topics covered during the FDP were:

  1. Introduction to Design Thinking
  2. The five practices that enable innovation
  3. Steps involved in design thinking
  4. Scaling Design Thinking
  5. Critical success factors while implementing Design Thinking
  6. Possible Applications of Design Thinking

Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp:

“Entrepreneurship Awareness camp” was organized for 125 students of all branches of B.Tech III and IV year students from 26- 28 Sept 2019. The camp was sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India(EDII), Ahmedabad. The guest speakers on 26th September were Mr. Abhimanyu Bharadwaj, founder of Launchspace, Mr. Avanish Mundhra, founder of Cantilever Labs, Mr. Vamsi T Mohun founder of IFIT Forum. The guest speakers on 27th September were Mr. Harsha Kankanala founder of Edwisely and Mr. Sri Charan Lakkaraju, founder of Stumagz, The guest speaker on 28th September was Mr. Ganesh Rayala, Marketing Head, Valuelabs. There was an industrial visit to T-Hub, IIIT Hyderabad on 28th September. Some of the topics covered during the camp were Modern Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Product Design Thinking. There were hands-on sessions on Problem Identifying activity, pitching of ideas and validation of ideas. There was a very positive feedback from the students.

Workshop on “Entrepreneurship”:

One day workshop on Entrepreneurship was organized on 13 August, 2019. 60 students from various branches participated in the workshop. Guest speaker was Ms. Sravani Ramisetti, Consultant, McKinsey, USA. The guest speaker delivered hands-on-session on the steps involved from idea generation stage to product prototype development stage. The students gave positive feedback on the workshop.

Workshop on “Entrepreneurship”:

One day workshop on Entrepreneurship was organized on 25 July 2019. 60 students from various branches participated in the workshop. The guest speaker was Mr. Vijaya Ramaraju, Founder and CEO of Instagreen . The guest speaker delivered a talk on his journey from ideation stage to commercialization stage of his product.

Workshop on “Entrepreneurship”:

One day workshop on Entrepreneurship was organized on 11 July, 2019.  60 students from various branches participated in the workshop. The guest speaker was Mr. Rakesh Munnanooru, Founder and CEO of Whistle Drive. The guest speaker delivered a talk on the qualities of successful entrepreneurs and his experiences as an entrepreneur.

Smart India Hackathon 2019:

It was held on 1 & 2 March, 2019. In SIH 2019, the students had an opportunity to work on challenges faced within the private sector organizations and create world class solutions for some of the top companies in the world, thus helping the Private sector hire the best minds from across the nation. 30 students from our college participated in this hackathon. Our college has won 4 prizes :

  1. Nodal Center Best Prize-Rs 1,00,000
  2. Nodal Center Third Best prize, Department Level First Prize(Rs 50000)
  3. Nodal Center Level Runner-up 1
  4. Nodal Center Level Runner-up 2

The management of CVR College of Engineering, honored the winning teams with matching cash prizes amounting to a total cash award of 2 lakhs across all the winning teams.

Smart India Hackathon (Hardware) 2019:

The third edition of the Smart India Hackathon (Hardware)-2019 was conducted by the MHRD Innovation Cell from 8-13 July,2019. Team Enigma 99 from our college won Smart India Hackathon 2019. The team had developed a smart sensor based fuel tank guard alarm to give protection against theft and siphoning. The team received a cash prize of one lakh rupees and further opportunities from the Government of India to extend their product under Ministry of Coal. Our college Management felicitated the entire team (4th year ECE students, Rohan Vamshi, Robin Wilson, SanthoshKumar, Rohit Patil, Sahithi Ammana, TRasgana) and the mentor of the team (Dr. Gaurav Sharma) and gave a cash prize of one lakh rupees to the winning team.

Research and Development Showcase:

 10 faculty members and 40 students from various branches of B.Tech had attended the R&D showcase, 2019 at IIIT, Hyderabad on 23rd and 24th February, 2019 where 200 research projects were demonstrated and where some of the most recent developments in research and innovation in technology at IIIT-H. The students got awareness on the latest developments in research and innovation in technology through the research projects that were displayed and demonstrated at IIIT Hyderabad.

Idea Presentation:

An event on “Idea Presentation” was part of our college technical fest “CIENCIA”, where 18 students from our college as well as from other colleges presented their ideas on 23-24 January, 2019.

Workshop Organized on Entrepreneurship:

One Day Workshop on “Entrepreneurship” was organized for 120 students of Btech IInd year on 7 September, 2018. The Guest speaker was Mr. Sridhar Mateti, founder of Swashakthi Entrepreneurs Society. Mr. Sridhar Mateti spoke on the Entrepreneurial Skills such positive, innovative and logical thinking, the right attitude, business communication skills, and analytical reasoning that are required to be developed in order to become a successful entrepreneur.

Faculty Development Programme Organized:

Faculty development Programme on “Intellectual Property Rights” was organized by National Institute for Micro Small and Medium Scale enterprises, for 14 faculties from all the branches of B.Tech from 5 Sept to 7 Sept 2018. Workshops Organized on “Startup Ideas”:

One Day Workshop on “Startup Ideas” for 80 students of all the branches of B.Tech IInd and III year was organized on 20 September, 2018.The guest speaker was PDr.K. Harshavardhan Reddy, founder of Edwisely. Mr. Harshvardhan Reddy spoke on ideas which need to be innovative, having uniqueness and on the importance of timing of launching of a product. He also threw light on ideas which need to be customer centric.

Entrepreneurship Awareness camp:

Entrepreneurship Awareness camp” was organized for 80 students of all branches of B.Tech II and III year students from 28- 30 Sept 2018. The camp was sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India(EDII), Ahmedabad. The guest speakers on 28th September were Mr. Gopi Krishna, founder and CEO of Lean Spoon, Mr. Surya Subash, founder and CEO of PrimeAuth, and Ms. Ashwitha Reddy, founder and CEO of LevelApp. The guest speakers on 29th September were Mr. K. Harshvardhan Reddy, founder of Edwisely and Mr. Leela Sai Dev, Chief of Sales and Marketing at Zelinoid Technologies Pvt Ltd. The guest speakers on 30th September were Mr. Sumanth Bommothi, Head of Marketing and Business Development at My Dream Store, Mr. Y. Srinivasa Rao, Executive Director, Dakshah ebiz Consulting Pvt. Ltd. Ms. Renuka Bodla, Startup Mentor and Investor at IIIT Hyderabad.

Workshop on “Entrepreneurship Skill Development” Programme :

One- day workshop on “Entrepreneurship Skill Development” was conducted for III year B.Tech students of CSE Department on 2nd August, 2018. It was organized jointly by Entrepreneurship development Cell and CSE Department. The first Guest Speaker was Mr Sharath Gradlane, founder and CEO of HEDNXT, Hyderabad who delivered a talk on Marketing Skills required for an Entrepreneur. He also gave inputs on how Business Plan has to be prepared by an Entrepreneur. The second Guest Speaker was M.Naveen Kumar, City Manager of KrazyBee, Hyderabad who delivered a talk on Life Development Skills required for an Entrepreneur. He also highlighted on the basic steps involved in setting up a Business. The students gave positive feedback on the One-Day Workshop.

Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp:

A Three Day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized by EDC from 15 – 17 Feb, 2018. The Camp was sponsored by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India under DST-NIMAT Scheme (2018-19). Around 148 students from B.Tech III year and B.Tech IV year attended the camp. The guest speakers were Mr. Ramesh Vemuganti (Chairman of Hyderabad Management Association and Corporate Trainer for Sales and Marketing), Mr. S.V. Saravaran( AGM, SBI , Hyderabad), Mr. T.V.S. Sastry, (Former Chariman and MD of Praga Tools and Bharath Earth Movers Ltd.), Mr. Mr. Y. Naveeen (Black Belt on Six Sigma, Corporate Trainer), Mrs. Aruna Dasari (Founder of Ananya Green Tech. Hyderabad), and Mrs. Revathi Thuraga, Innovation Consultant. The students were taken on an industrial visit to National Institute for Rural Development (NIRD) on 17th Feb, 2018. The students gave a positive feedback on the One-Day Workshop.

Workshop on “Entrepreneurship”:

One day Workshop on “Entrepreneurship” was organized by EDC on 2nd Feb, 2018 for B.Tech II year students of CIVIL, Mechanical and IT Departments. The guest speakers were Mr.C.V.Krishna, (Consultant, Ex. General Manager of TCS), Mr.Vijay Kumar (Founder and CEO of Vive Info Services PVT LTD) and Mr. Sridhar Mateti, (Founder and CEO of  Swashakthi Entrepreneurs Society). The students gave a positive feedback on the One-Day Workshop.

Faculty Development Programme on “Entrepreneurship”:

A Faculty Development Programme on “Entrepreneurship” was organized by National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and sponsored by CVR College of Engineering. The FDP programme was organized for two weeks from 30th October, 2017 to 11th November, 2017. Fifteen faculties from different Departments of CVR College of Engineering participated in the FDP programme. Guest lectures were delivered by resource persons such as Dr. Nune Srinivasa Rao, Prograame Director, NIMSME Mr. Sampath Kumar, Head of Trade Finance, Telangana, Mr. Ankit Bhatnagar, incharge of LIVELIHOOD Incubation Centre, NIMSME, Mr. K. Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp:

 

The department of Mechanical Engineering conducted an Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp. The Entrepreneuership Awareness Camp was for three days from 3 –5 October, 2016. Students of final year and the third year from all the branches of engineering from CVRCE as well as students from other neighboring colleges attended the camp. There were 55 participants in the camp. The event was highly interactive and informative for the participants. Address was given by Dr. T. N. Janardhan Reddy. The camp was inaugurated on 3 October, 2016 by Dr. K. Nayanathara, 6 resource persons from Psychologists Consulting Group delivered lectures on a wide array of topics dealing with setting up of an enterprise. The Best Start-Up Idea Competition was held for all the participants. The feasible business ideas (Enterprise Promotion written proposal) on the theme of Entrepreneurship were collected from the participants, out of which, 3 of the best ideas and 5 consolation prizes were awarded.

Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp

The Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was conducted for three days from 19 - 21 January, 2016. Students of final year from all the branches of engineering attended the camp. The event was highly interactive and informative for the participants. Eight resource persons from various organizations including APITCO, IPO, APSFC, DIC, Banking Sector, Law and OU delivered lectures on a wide array of topics dealing with setting up of an enterprise. Participants were taken for a plant visit at Poultry Feed and Vaccine Preparation Unit at Mangalapalli. The Best Business Idea competition on presenting feasible business ideas (Enterprise Promotion- Written Proposal) was held for the students. Three of the best ideas were awarded and five consolation prizes were given.

All BTech courses and 2 MTech courses accredited by NBA under Tier-1

CVR College of Engineering has achieved yet another distinction of Seven of its UG Courses and Two of PG Courses having been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation. With this, all the eligible UG Courses i.e., B.Tech. of CE, CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE, IT and ME are accredited, with CSE, ECE and EEE for the fourth time. UG Courses along with the two PG Courses of Structural Engineering and VLSI System Design have the added significance that the accreditation is under Tier-I institutions that involves in-depth scrutiny of all the parameters.

In their quest for excellence, the Management, faculty, staff and students have striven hard to better their performance year after year and beat records. The cornerstone laid in 2001 led to a structure that has been developed with dedication towards many capstones which indicate the prominence achieved. This speaks volumes regarding the wise counsel and guidance provided by the management and seniors in its two-decade long endeavour to provide quality engineering education in service of the society and the nation at large.

The quest to excel continues without resting on laurels, identifying milestones and toiling towards attainment with a clear Vision and zealous Mission.
