The College celebrated its graduation day on 30th June, 2012 with grandeur amidst the dignitaries, the governing council members, staff, students and their parents. The Chief Guest for this event was Prof. Rameshwar Rao, Hon. Vice-Chancellor, JNTUH while the Guest of Honor was Dr. Suresh Tadisina, Professor of Management, Southern Illinois University, USA.
The Chief Guest in his address congratulated students, management and faculty. He also appreciated the College for having very renowned academicians and for growing progressively. He emphasized to the students the importance of good communication skills. The Guest of Honor in his address advised students to be good managers and to maintain a balance between their professional and personal lives. He emphasized the importance of change, its various causes and the role of adaptability to change in meeting global standards. He also encouraged students to be global citizens contributing their technical knowledge for the betterment of society. He emphasized the humane skills required to be a truly good engineer.
The Chairman, Dr. Raghava Cherabuddi, believes in quality education and has steered CVR College of Engineering to be one of the prestigious institutions in the field of technical education. In his address he congratulated the toppers, the graduates and the faculty for their contribution to the high pass percentage. He advised students to be visionary and committed to any task that they embark upon. He asked CVRites to cater to the needs of society and to be responsible citizens.
The Director, Dr. K. Rama Sastri, delivered the welcome address, Principal Dr. A.D.Rajkumar read out the highlights of the outgoing batch and also commended the remarkable placements achieved by the graduates. The average pay package offered is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest is 9 lakhs per annum. There have been 285 quality placements and more than 150 students pursuing their higher studies both in India and abroad. The stellar placement record can be credited to the encouragement and involvement of the Chairman, Placement Officer, faculty and ultimately to the commitment of the students.
Dean, Academics, Dr. K.V. Chalapathi Rao, Vice Principal Prof. L.C. Siva Reddy, HODs’, Professors, Faculty and students volunteers were active participants in the ceremony.
The College conferred Gold Medals, Cash Awards and Mementoes for the overall toppers, branch toppers and the best projects from every stream of Engineering. There were 4 recipients of Gold medals and 24 recipients of Cash awards. The overall topper of the college, Ms. Gattu Sreeja from ECE stream is the recipient of Late Prof. P Narsimha Reddy gold medal and Late Sri. M. Madan Mohan gold medal. The B.Tech. Degree was conferred to 497* (95% of the batch) students. The ceremony concluded on a happy note with group photographs being taken, followed by a sumptuous lunch, and in capturing the nostalgic moments.
