Language and Communication Skills
The College has created a friendly learner centric environment for its students. The college reaches out to urban, semi urban and rural students. The students are being equipped with skills of the English Language, through laboratory and theory courses, which enables them to speak English proficiently in all situations. Through prose and poetry the students develop life skills to tackle different challenges in life, i.e. personal and professional. The English Language and Communication Skills Labs help learners to overcome their diffidence and mitigate the mother tongue interference upon their English with exercises on Phonetics, Presentations, Group Discussions and Public Speaking. Verbal Ability lab enriches the learner’s vocabulary and empowers the student to write and analyze for the competitive world. Advanced English Communication and Soft Skills lab through effective communication, negotiation, decision making, time management and Resume writing skills, equip the students with requisite employability skills. Effective Technical Communication lab provides students the skill set needed for Effective Technical Communication. The college has introduced an open elective course, Appreciation of Contemporary English Literature in 2017 for students to appreciate the inherent values and learn the nuances of the language of English literature, and to become more discerning users of the language. Thus, the labs and courses in English language and communication skills make students industry ready and enable them to adapt to the demands of a global environment, which will render them as effective and successful Engineers.

Objectives of the English Language Laboratories in CVRCE
- Helping students to enhance LSRW skills for communicating effectively to meet real time requirements in various personal and professional contexts.
- Building up academic competence and confidence to use the language effectively.
- Developing advanced linguistic competence through exercises on Analogy, Verbal Reasoning and Professional Business Writing in English.
- Familiarizing students with different reading strategies and writing formats to meet the demands of the corporate sector.
- Imparting Decision Making, Time Management, Negotiation Skills, Interview Skills and other holistic soft skills required in a professional environment.
- Enabling students to analyze a text critically and developing as independent learners through Book Reviews.
