Dr.N.Narayana obtained his M.Sc.(Geology) degree in the Year 1978 and Ph.D. degree in Geology from Osmania University in the Year 1983. He is a Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF-CSIR) at the Department of Geology, Osmania University from December 1983 to November 1984. After Ph.D. and PDF, he worked as a lecturer in Geology at Osmania University and its constituent colleges for a brief period of 3 years. Later he joined as a Scientist-B, at National council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB), Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Government of India, New Delhi in March 1986 and he superannuated as a Joint Director & Scientist-G at NCB Hyderabad in the year 2013. He is having 27 years of Research & Industrial experience related to cement industry and 10 years of teaching experience. 

Dr. N. Narayana began his career in National council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB), Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Government of India at New Delhi in March 1986 as a Scientist –B and was elevated to Joint Director & Scientist–G in 2011. He has published 3 Books and 16 research papers in national journals and has completed 11 R&D projects and also 50 sponsored/consultancy projects which include 4 WORLD BANK AIDED/FUNDED MEGA PROJECTS alone of worth 10 Crores.  He also presented papers in National & International conferences. He has presented a paper in an international seminar and got the BEST PAPER AWARD in the year 2005. He is a Life member of Mining Engineer Association of India.

He has joined as a Professor, CVR College of Engineering on 1^st December 2014 and has assumed an additional charge of the Associate Dean- Faculty Affairs since 18^th November 2020. His work involves dealing with all the faculty. He advises faculty to publish R&D papers in the reputed National and International Journals, to attend more FDPs/Workshops/Seminars, and to register for Ph.D. He monitors research hours of faculty. Prof. Narayana encourages faculty to apply for various funding schemes of Government Organizations and also Industry. He counsels faculty regarding whether any faculty member needs to face the University Selection Committee in consultation with the concerned head of the department. He also coordinates and assists the faculty in uploading the faculty information to JNTUH.
