Abstract

The current article is a brief discussion of the enormity of environmental problems facing India. The problems are in the form of pollution of air, water, and land resources. High concentrations of pollutants of various kinds are directly linked with the health of the people, and in some cases they result in premature deaths. It is extremely important for engineers of the current and next generation to be cognizant of this situation in their future developments. Environmental laws exist, and every effort should be made to keep this in mind in all new developments.
