Twin Steel Helix Fiber Reinforced Concrete
Abstract
As on date the most widely used construction material is still Reinforced cement concrete. As concrete is strong in compression and week in tension, steel is placed in concrete where ever tension is anticipated. The process is proven to be cumbersome, time consuming and expensive. Fiber reinforced concrete has emerged as a consequence which offers improved tensile strength in addition to increased compressive strength. Twin steel helix fiber with more frictional resistance are added in concrete matrix to improve tensile strength of concrete. In this paper experimental results of compressive strength and tensile of different grade of concrete with different dosages of twin steel helix fibers are presented.
