The Cherabuddi Education Society was registered in January 1999 as an NRI-promoted society. The Society started CVR College of Engineering with the aim of creating a state-of-the-art engineering institution in association with leading NRI technology professionals and well-known academicians of Andhra Pradesh. The Society aims to harness technical excellence with a commitment to the ethos of 'useful learning'.

NBA Accredited
CVR College of Engineering is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation) for all eligible UG programs - CSE, ECE, EEE, EIE, and IT for a period of 2 years from January 2013 to January 2015. THIS IS THE ONLY COLLEGE THAT GOT ACCREDITED TWICE AMONG ALL COLLEGES IN THE ENTIRE STATE OF AP THAT ARE YOUNGER THAN 15 YEARS OLD.

Highest Placements
Dr. CV Raghava - Chairman and President of the college receiving the award from the then Chief Minister K. Rosaiah for the highest number of students placed through IEG-JKC in the year 2010.
CVR managed to grab the top slot in terms of the number of students placed during the Infosys Recruitment Drive in Andhra Pradesh. With around 75 colleges participating all over the state and more than 7000 students appearing for the drive, 50 of our students were selected out of the total 503 selections statewide, which is 10% of the total selections.

Library
The College has a dedicated three-storied building with a total area of 1800 sqm, for the exclusive use of Library and Postgraduate Research facilities. The College library has 42,092 books,10,480 reference titles and 160 journals (including IEEE Journals) that cater to all the seven branches of engineering, as well as other disciplines.

Graduation Day
The College celebrated its graduation day on 30th June, 2012 with grandeur amidst the dignitaries, the governing council members, staff, students and their parents. The Chief Guest for this event was Prof. Rameshwar Rao, Hon. Vice-Chancellor, JNTUH while the Guest of Honor was Dr. Suresh Tadisina, Professor of Management, Southern Illinois University, USA.
